Catherine A. Stockslager

Attorney

Catherine A. Stockslager specializes in Family Law, Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, Foreclosure Defense Litigation, and Criminal Law. Attorney Stockslager previously clerked at the Cook County Public Defender’s Office and was a Public Interest Legal Initiative (PILI) Intern in the family law division of the Chicago Legal Clinic. Attorney Stockslager also has expertise representing clients in Domestic Violence and Order of Protection matters.

During her time in law school, Catherine served on the Student Bar Association as a 3L Senator and the Mentor Committee Chair. She was the Co-Executive Editor and Student Articles Editor for the DePaul Journal for Women, Gender, and the Law. Upon completion of law school she was awarded the Senior Service Award for her involvement in school organizations and community service projects. Nesreen J. Said

Attorney

Nesreen J. Said specializes in Immigration Law and Family Law in Illinois. She has worked extensively in matters dealing with removal proceedings, prosecutorial discretion, asylum, waivers, adjustment of status, and naturalization.

After receiving her Illinois license, Attorney Said worked as a case process analyst for a federal independent contract in the Foreign Labor Certification Program. She reviewed and processed over 500 labor certifications for temporary worker (H2B) visas. She also has extensive experience representing individuals in matters regarding Child Support and Orders of Protection.

During law school, Ms. Said tailored her legal education to practice immigration law. She was a student representative at the Valparaiso Immigration Law Clinic. She represented families seeking asylum, an individuals seeking prosecutorial discretion, and individuals in removal proceedings, one of which that had stretched seven years and involved an appeal to the Seventh Circuit. She also worked as a paralegal for six years in an immigration law office before enrolling in law school.

Luis G. Sanchez

Head Paralegal

Luis G. Sanchez joined the VLO Team in 2014. Prior to this, Mr. Sanchez worked as an Associate Attorney at Sanchez & Sanchez Law Office in Queretaro, Mexico for over five years. He also held the position of Head of Department of Legislative Projects at the Municipal Presidency of Queretaro, Mexico. Additionally, Mr. Sanchez worked as a Legal Analyst in Legislative Affairs at the Municipal Presidency of Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico from May of 2006 until February of 2010. As a licensed Attorney in Mexico, Mr. Sanchez has worked extensively with clients and their immigration matters. After joining the VLO Team, Mr. Sanchez has also acquired substantial knowledge in assisting our Attorney’s in matters relating to Bankruptcy, Foreclosure Defense, and Family Law.

Mr. Sanchez currently manages VLO’s immigration matters. Not only does he work hands on with our immigration clients, but his genuine desire for successful outcomes for each and every one of our client’s case makes him a valuable asset to our team and to our client’s.  Mr. Sanchez assists our Attorneys and our Clients in all realms of immigration law, including but not limited to; general intakes, translation services, petition/application preparation, client follow ups, preparation for immigration interviews, up until the final receiving of the Green Card/ Citizenship/Visa. In his free time Luis enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time with his family.

VANESSA L. FERNANDEZ

Vanessa L. Fernandez has many years of experience in customer service. Vanessa understands that individuals seeking legal advice may be encountering a difficult time in their life. She strives to provide great customer service and communication skills to make everyone feel welcome and to ensure that their questions are being answered. Vanessa also assists in paralegal work involving Loan Modifications for clients whom wish to save their home.

Christopher Torres

Administration/ Accounts Receivable

Christopher Torres manages the daily collections and administration of Victory law Office. His welcoming presence, charisma, and hard work makes him a valuable part of the VLO team. Christopher not only works with VLO Client’s regularly in regards to billing and collections, but he manages the organization of client files and ensures that our clients are communicated with and up to date in regards to their matter at all times. Chris works hand in hand alongside our other Paralegals and Attorneys in regards to all aspects of the office.

Christopher has extensive experience working with client’s in a legal setting, as a result of years of working in multiple Law Firms. Christopher contributes substantially by managing USCIS FOIA’s, CBP FOIA’s, and FBI Background Checks, among many other immigration related tasks. Christopher strives to contribute to your legal needs with diligence, pride, and dedication at all times.

Carlos Garcia

Paralegal

Carlos Garcia has over 6 years of experience working very closely with clients in all aspects of Immigration, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure defense, Loan Modification and Family Law matters. Carlos has great customer service skills and strives to offer the best possible experience for our clients. He understands that many situations in life are put in front of us may result in stress and frustration, and his goals are to keep VLO Client’s informed of their legal matter at every stage, and to make their legal process as easy and comfortable as possible. He focuses his effort on excellent communication skills and organization to create a piece of mind for our clients.  Carlos works very closely with our clients, and believes that in order to be successful on any case, everyone has to be a part of the team and work fluently together.
